In an Instagram post, Ryan Serhant, founder and broker of SERHANT. based in New York City, announced that his firm will launch a virtual world for its agents.
In the post, he says, “When we decided to start our own real estate firm a few years ago, we knew two things: One, that we wanted to create the first of its kind content-to-commerce brokerage focused on our agents’ brands and the properties they sell… and two, that we wanted to serve the whole world with a mobile-first approach.”
He notes that UNIVERS will allow him to do just that “using the best technology we have available, our agents will be able to attend meetings, grow their teams, meet with our employees, interact with clients, perform workflow, and, eventually, show properties in our UNIVERS,” according to his post.
RealTrends interviewed Serhant recently for a RealTrending podcast. He made it clear that everything he does is for the agent of the future. In that podcast, he said, “You cannot scale or depend upon personal relationships anymore because people make personal relationships in their phones first. So, if you’re not getting them there, then good luck meeting people at the coffee shop.”
He adds, “There’s a lot of turnover right now with a generational gap and my future agent, the one I’m building for today, who I care about the most isn’t 35 or 45 or 55 with lots of sales experience. We built the business right now the last year with people that have been in the business for at least five years. But our future, my future rockstar agent right now is 15 years old.”
