Publicly traded real estate brokerage The Real Brokerage Inc., expanded its network with the addition of The Dean Aguilar Group on Tuesday. The San Diego-based team, founded by Dean Aguilar in 2012, has 115 agents who closed more than $425 million in transactions in the past year.
Aguilar’s professional career spans more than two decades in the real estate industry. He moved to Southern California in 2008 as a closing agent and focused on the growth of his network for the next 10 years.
Tamir Poleg, chairman and chief executive officer of Real, said the partnership will help the organization expand its footprint in California.
“The team includes some of California’s most tech-forward real estate professionals, which is always exciting for us, but more than that, their people-first mentality makes them an ideal fit for our growing community of agents,” Poleg added.
Aguilar believes Real’s vision for the company aligns with his team’s mission. He also said Real’s agents include “top thought leaders” in the industry, which was another reason behind the partnership.
“The number of deals you close is secondary to who you are as a person,” Aguilar said. “We were looking for an opportunity for our people to grow, and Real is home to some of real estate’s most innovative thinkers. When you consider opportunities for training and collaboration, that’s who you want to be working with.”
In August 2022, real estate brokerage The Enclave Way joined Real with 24 agents, followed by real estate team Five Star Real Estate Network with 18 agents.
Real was founded in 2014 and operates in 44 states, D.C., and three Canadian provinces today. Real’s most recent acquisition was that of Redline Real Estate Group which expanded its network into Canada’s third-largest province, British Columbia.
On Monday, Real appointed Andrew Kazeniac as its chief operating officer.
